Ian is a native of Burnie and the son of a Kokoda veteran. He has an extensive business background ranging from owning small businesses in Tasmania to working across Asia for Fortune 500 companies. In his 10 years living in Shenzhen, China he was APAC General Manager for two of the world’s leading software companies and ultimately reverted to small business establishing restaurants, bars and a relocation business catering for expats arriving in China.

Ian is President of the local chamber of commerce, Business Northwest, a Director of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce plus Chair of Clean Energy Tasmania and is also active in several NFPs and regional economic development bodies. Ian provides business guidance and operational support at the Centre.
